My spiritual journey through the bible has
changed significantly over the last few years. I guess you could say, I’ve been “awakened”….meaning that
prior to the blinders being removed, I was lulled into the beliefs of modern
Christianity. I hope my honesty
does not offend my fellow brothers and sisters, but instead pique their
curiosity. After all, we come as
children to our Father desiring to always learn, always be willing to change
our minds based on revealed truth and certainly always desiring transformation
that is pleasing to Him.
For starters, I have begun to learn new
habits. I call my Father, Yehovah’
(accent on last syllable) as a result of a long search and a continuing search
into how His name is pronounced.
It is written YHVH and it has been an easy transition for me to write
YHVH instead of God (His title).
Many scriptures instruct us into the importance of His name and that it is
not to be forgotten, so I literally took them literal.
As well, I have begun to call our Messiah,
Yehoshua (or Yeshua) since this is well documented to be His name. It means “Yehovah (abrev) saves” so why
would we not want to declare that truth every time we use our Messiah’s
name. These significant changes to
my habits have certainly caused some irritation and skepticism among family and
friends. We are creatures of habit
whether they be good or bad, albeit.
But we also should be willing to align ourselves with what our Father
says and learn from the example(s) in scripture. The apostles all called Messiah, “Yehoshua” His given
name. His family, His friends and
acquaintances all called Him “Yehoshua”.
Every time His name was spoken, glory was given to the Father. Should we do any differently?
And this was the beginning of my journey. What else in scripture have I
ignored? Where else do my beliefs
not really have basis in truth?
How many other habits have I formed that were not really part of the 1st
century Saint’s life? This began
my quest that continues to this day.
So I will use this part of my blog to document some of these issues with
respect to contradictions in our theology and what is actually written in
scripture. Hopefully, these issues
will provide you with enough discomfort and curiosity that you will not rest
until you resolve and reconcile what you believe and do to follow our Heavenly
Father.
Will "love" be the death of us all?
Judge or judge not?
Do We Work for it? Modern Salvation Teaching is NOT Biblical Salvation
Have you read that the law is abolished?
Put Paul on trial and see for yourself
You have despised My holy things
Depart from Me
Saved FROM sin
Who is your Messiah?
Sign
Who told you so?
Are you trying to be Jewish?
What happened in Arabia?
Thou shalt not eat kitty cats and puppy dogs
The biblical church; do we care?
How narrow is "narrow"?
Are Song Lyrics our "Scripture"?
