Homemade French Lavender Laundry Soap

Time to make more laundry soap.  This is the best stuff in the world.  I started making this soap two years ago and now I use nothing else. It's not difficult to make and it smells absolutely heavenly.  I think you'll be hooked as soon as you open the container.

I start with French Lavender soap that I buy in bulk blocks and coarsely grate it.  With a pastry cutter, I then chop the grated soap finely into the dry products to evenly distribute it throughout.  This allows the smaller soap pieces to melt easily and quickly during the wash cycle.

Just the smell of the lavender while making this laundry soap is so nice wafting through the house.  And it only  takes a few minutes and an arm workout to result in a double batch.

I have to smile.  As soon as my daughters heard I was making laundry soap today, each of them put in their order for a refill. Lavender essential oil has antiseptic, antidepressant and antiviral properties.  Lavender is also known as a bactericide and fungicide making it perfect to really clean our clothing.

There are varying recipes online.  Here's mine if you want to make it yourself.  If that's just not your thing, you can pick it up under "The French Market" tab above.  It only takes 2T for each load making the cost to do a load of laundry very minimal for such a powerful cleaner. You can purchase either the 2qt refill or 2qt with canister & scoop.   And it comes with an "inspired to inspire" gift card and scripture verse, making it a wonderful gift.

I Love Love Love all thing French!

Don't you?  The French seem so romantic.  Their countryside a dream.  Their architecture, their antiques, their manor houses to die for.  French Country is my favorite design style and I just cannot get enough.  Over the years, I have strayed from French Country briefly only to return to my first love.  I'm not sure what draws me.  The intricate carving, the beautiful patinas, and comfortable worn look of both textile and wood make French Country feel like an old friend.

Jeremiah 6:16 This is what YHVH says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths; ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.

The ancient path that our Father is asking us to find, is oftentimes overlooked in modern theology.  Yet, our Father's word is perfect and eternal.  What He spoke to His children as He taught them His instructions is just as relevant today as it was 4000 years ago.  Following our Father's commands proves our love both to Him and to His children.  Just like an old comfortable chair that we tend to choose over the newly covered one, we need to take another look at scripture with fresh eyes.

1John 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God:by loving God and carrying out His commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome.
